WINNIPEG (October 10, 2017) — Two seasoned, senior executives have joined the management of DMT Development Systems Group Inc. as the rapidly growing company creates the foundation for the next phase of its expansion, company president and chief executive Glen Demetrioff has announced.
Respected Winnipeg entrepreneur, educator and philanthropist Mark Evans has joined the DMT board of directors and Sean MacDonald, a senior executive and business leader, has been named Chief Financial Officer, Demetrioff said. Both appointments were effective in September.
The move is part of a comprehensive plan to expand the DMT suite of industry-leading software for the auto industry and hire as many as 30 new staff as it extends its product and geographic reach. In February, DMT announced a round of growth equity financing led by American investor Sageview Capital LP.
The two newest additions to the DMT executive ranks embody both exceptional skills and highly valuable experience, said Demetrioff.
Evans’s perspective from his own successful career in technology as founder, president and chief executive of Emerging Information Systems Incorporated and his close association with the University of Manitoba (the DMT headquarters is located on the campus), made for “the perfect alignment” with his role at DMT, Evans said. “Seeing the organization and the products and the (DMT software) architecture, I got very excited about what the company can achieve — both in the auto industry and beyond,” he said.
The timing of his arrival was “ideal,” MacDonald said. “There’s a great team in place here already,” he said, and his experience in Canada and in the U.S. can be helpful as the company expands and adds additional offices to service its global customers. Before joining DMT, MacDonald was chief financial officer of ECC Education Consolidation Corporation of Winnipeg and was CFO of Emerging Information Systems Inc. before that.
Both Evans and MacDonald are graduates of the University of Manitoba; Evans earned his Ph.D and M.Sc in computer science at the school and MacDonald gained his B. Comm there before adding his CPA and CA designations. Both are very active in the volunteer sector in Winnipeg.
“The kind of management and leadership skills represented by Mark and Sean add tremendous breadth and depth to DMT at a time when we’re managing exponential growth,” said Demetrioff. “We expect both men to play critical roles in that growth.”
For more than 21 years, DMT has provided the global automotive and the power equipment industry with cutting-edge SaaS software and systems focused on improving lead generation and customer relationship management utilizing multiple communication channels for fast and thorough responses to internet inquiries.
